I realize it has been a long time since I last updated my blog. With facebook becoming such a mainstream networking site, I've been sharing my photos there. Since my last post here, so much has happened. We have settled into our home in Scottsdale and had a baby boy.
We are remodeling our home, so there is always a part of the house that is torn up. It's a good thing I'm a visionary because this is a sloooooow process. Dealing with contractors and dust is no fun when you are pregnant or have a newborn plus 2 other little ones. Naps don't happen, schedules are thrown off, and the bank account is drained!
Baby Dawson was born on July 5th at 4:27 PM. He was 8 pounds 3.9 ounces. After 2 girls, we finally got our boy. Thank goodness! He came out with the cord wrapped around his neck and was a little jaundice, but is healthy and growing like a weed now. Having a newborn, toddler, and preschooler is just as much work as I thought it would be, but somehow I am surviving it. I've learned how to prioritize and let some things go (like the housekeeping and blogging).

I get all the thrills of babies and children in my own household and don't have the desire to experience it at work too, if you know what I mean. So stock photography and commercial work suit my needs right now.

BOUTIQUE MODELING
My younger daughter, Parker, is 14 months now. It didn't take her long to catch on to "appropriate model/studio behavior." I've had the studio packed up for the last 6 months as we relocated to Arizona and did the whole house hunters expedition. Now that we're settled, the studio is back up, and it was time to introduce it to Parker.
Her first shoot was a disaster, but I think that was due to big sis [Peyton] standing there crying out of jealousy, "I'm not gonna let Parker model. I'm the only model." There were real tears as she hovered over us.
My 2nd attempt in the studio with Parker was MUCH better since I did it when big sis was at school. It was just Mommy and Parker, playing in the studio. Reminds me of all the fun shoots I had with Peyton as a toddler. She was about the same age when I started working with her. Amazing how she's already 4.5 yrs! Time flies!

CATCHING UP
We are finally settled into our new Scottsdale home and just love it here. I don't miss California one bit! In the midst of catching up on things, I realize I haven't posted pics on my blog... it's been too long! So, I've posted a few shots from our recent model jobs. Peyton is still my superstar. Little Parker is my rebel without a cause. She may not be cut out for modeling. So far it doesn't interest her. Actually, she sees my camera and runs, but I am still trying. I hope she catches on soon or I will have to use Mr. Trump's famous line... "You're fired!"
Since we are new to Arizona and I am 5 months pregnant, I've decided to put the full blown photography business on the back buner and just enjoy doing our commercial shoots for boutiques. This is where it all started anyway, so it brings back the fun factor. I know at some point (after my babies have grown) I will open up my studio to families, babies, and expectant mothers again.
